LONGHOUSE INDIVIDUAL LOAN SCHEME (PKPRP)
Longhouse Individual Loan Scheme (PKPRP)
The longhouse Individual Loan Scheme (PKPRP) is a Sarawak Government initiative that provides affordable financing to help longhouse residents build or renovate their homes. Tailored to meet the unique needs of rural communities, the scheme supports better living conditions and long-term sustainability.
First introduced in 1978, the scheme was initially funded by both the Federal and State Governments. Since 2007, it has been financed through a dedicated Loan Trust Fund jointly established by both parties.
Together with the Randau Program, this initiative reflects the State Government's ongoing commitment to improving the quality of life in longhouse communities, preserving cultural heritage, and ensuring that homes are safe, durable and built to last. It also plays a key role in increasing public awareness and encouraging greater participation among rural residents across Sarawak.
