MANCHESTER, UNITED KINGDOM, 27 April 2025

YB Datuk Amar Prof Dr. Sim Kui Hian, Deputy Premier of Sarawak and Minister of Public Health, Housing and Local Government (MPHLG), is leading a delegation from the MPHLG and the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) on a working visit to Manchester, United Kingdom, from 25th April to 2nd May 2025.

As part of the visit, the delegation explored New Islington in Ancoats, a former industrial site transformed into a vibrant, sustainable community. The redevelopment showcases key urban regeneration principles, including affordable housing, green spaces, and enhanced connectivity.

Insights from New Islington will guide Sarawak’s ongoing efforts to improve housing development, foster sustainable urban growth, and create more inclusive, liveable communities across the State.
